About Marissa

Marissa Ferry and her talented team are the creative force behind the beloved pastries and baked goods enjoyed at the Flying Fish Cafe, Blackfish, the Wellfleet Farmers Market, and through local caterers across the Outer Cape.

A native of the Outer Cape, Marissa is one of the fortunate few who have transformed a lifelong passion into a thriving profession. Her love of baking began in childhood and flourished into a career after earning a Bachelor's degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Marissa honed her skills working under world-renowned pastry chef Laurent Branlard at Todd English’s Bluezoo and at Emeril’s in Orlando, Florida. In 2008, she returned to her roots and founded Wildflour Bakery in the basement of the Flying Fish Cafe. Since then, the bakery has spent over 15 years delighting the Wellfleet community and the greater Outer Cape with handcrafted, high-quality baked goods.

Wildflour Bakery continues to be a local favorite—where passion, experience, and creativity come together in every bite.

Our Mission

At Wildflour Bakery, we are dedicated to creating high-quality, artisan baked goods using only the freshest, all-natural ingredients. Our commitment to seasonality, scratch-made techniques, and support for the local food economy reflects our respect for the integrity of the ingredients we use.

We offer a wide variety of baked goods—including whole grain, gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo options—so that everyone can enjoy a delicious treat, no matter their dietary needs.
